Biographical Information
I grew up the son of a United States Army soldier and spent many summers moving from Army base to Army base. I have lived in many different states as well as three years in Europe. Just before my eighth grade year, my father was reassigned to Ft. Riley, Kansas and from that point I would remain in Kansas. We lived in Abilene, KS, where I attended and graduated from Abilene High School. I am married to Tammy, who is a fourth grade teacher at Oil Hill Elementary in the Circle School District. We have three children, Christian who is a sophomore and Isabel who is in third grade. We just adopted a wonderful fifth grade foster daughter named Kaya!
I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree from Wichita State University in 1992 and my Master’s Degree from Baker University in 2007. Having spent my first three years of college at Kansas State University, I am a BIG Wildcat fan.
I am currently in my twenty-third year in education, in the classroom for fifteen and in administration for nine. My previous teaching job was at Colwich Elementary School in Colwich, KS. I have been the principal at Marshall Elementary in Eureka for nine years. I feel very fortunate to be at Marshall. We have the best group of teachers and staff members any community could hope for. I feel in our building children come first and their success is our goal. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. (620) 583 – 5537 or rleis@eurekausd389.net
